Steel castings · Gaomi, China
JK Casting is a steel castings manufacturer in Gaomi, Shandong, China. We make carbon steel castings to your drawing by sand casting, including resin-coated shell moulds, and by investment casting, supplied raw or CNC-machined. Common grades are WCB, WCC, ZG230-450, ZG270-500 and 25Л; alloy and stainless steel are reviewed per part.
The casting factory has been operating since 2002. Send the drawing, the full grade and standard, and the quantity so the casting route and supply condition can be reviewed before quotation.

Smaller steel parts with ribs, bosses and several functional features often suit investment casting, which can leave only holes and threads to machine.
Larger steel parts and robust shapes with cored passages are reviewed for sand casting, with machining stock on the functional faces.
Bores, faces, pin holes and threads are machined to the drawing on the castings JK supplies, with the dimensions to report agreed in advance.
Specify the steel
Use the complete designation from the drawing: grade, governing standard and heat-treatment or delivery condition. Similar names from different standards are approximate equivalents, not identical materials, and a substitution needs your written approval.
The cast carbon steel grades chart compares WCB, WCC, ZG230-450, ZG270-500 and 25Л with their minimum properties. For iron parts, see gray and ductile iron castings; for small detailed steel parts, see carbon steel investment casting.
Regular material family for drawing-based parts, by sand or investment casting.
These designations are approximate cross-references. The drawing’s standard and acceptance criteria govern.
Send the drawing with the exact cast grade, the heat-treatment condition, the service environment and the required material records and tests. Grade availability, casting route and test scope are confirmed in the quotation; these families are not listed here as regular pours.
Stainless steel enquiries are also described on the casting page.
Alloy vs carbon
| Decision point | Carbon steel castings | Alloy steel castings |
|---|---|---|
| What the grade is | Carbon and manganese steel, for example WCB or ZG230-450 | Steel with added elements such as chromium, molybdenum or nickel |
| Usual reason to specify | Structural brackets, housings, fittings and connectors | Properties carbon steel cannot reach, such as higher strength after heat treatment or higher-temperature service |
| Heat treatment | Normalised, or normalised and tempered, as the standard or drawing states | As the grade and drawing state, often quench and temper; it is part of the specification |
| Cost and supply | Common grades, usually the lower-cost choice | Grade-specific melting, treatment and testing, usually higher cost |
| At JK Casting | Regular material family | Reviewed part by part before quotation |
If carbon steel meets the drawing’s requirements, it is usually the simpler and lower-cost choice. When an alloy grade is specified, send it with the condition and tests so feasibility can be reviewed before a price is given.
Casting route
| Decision point | Sand casting | Investment casting (lost wax) |
|---|---|---|
| Typical as-cast tolerance (JK) | ISO 8062 CT8–CT10, depending on geometry | ISO 8062 CT5–CT7, depending on geometry |
| Suits | Larger parts, robust shapes, thick sections and cored passages | Smaller, detailed parts with ribs, bosses and thin features |
| Machining | More stock to remove on functional faces | Often only holes, threads or a few faces |
| Tooling | Pattern and core boxes; resin-coated shell moulds where a cleaner surface helps | Metal wax-injection die |
The sand casting vs investment casting guide explains the choice in more detail, and sand casting and investment casting describe each route. Tooling cost and ownership are covered in casting tooling costs.
Typical parts
Clevises, clamp bodies, shackles and brackets cast to drawing, with galvanizing arranged to the agreed specification. See power line hardware castings.
Cable protector and clamp bodies and other drawing-based parts. See oilfield equipment parts.
Brackets, mounts, hubs and housings for construction, agricultural and industrial equipment.
Steel parts made from a drawing, or from a sample when no drawing exists. See making a casting from a sample.
Supply scope
Steel castings are supplied raw, or CNC-machined on the features the drawing specifies; see machined castings. Heat treatment and galvanizing are arranged to the agreed specification. Material records such as EN 10204 3.1 certificates, dimensional reports and the first-article approval are agreed for each order; see quality control and the sample approval checklist.
Our ISO 9001:2015 certificate covers the processing of steel castings. A WCB callout does not imply pressure-vessel, valve, PED or API certification.
Steel casting RFQ checklist
Start with the controlled finished-part drawing and its material requirement, plus a 3D model if available. If you are comparing offers, the quote comparison guide keeps tooling, machining and inspection on the same scope.
Buyer questions
Carbon steel castings are a regular material family: common grades are ASTM A216 WCB (WCC when the drawing calls for it), ZG230-450, ZG270-500 and ГОСТ 977 25Л. Alloy steel and stainless steel castings are reviewed part by part before quotation.
Carbon steel suits most structural brackets, housings and fittings. Alloy steel is specified when the design needs properties that carbon steel cannot reach after heat treatment, such as higher strength or service at higher temperature. The designer chooses the grade; JK Casting reviews the drawing and confirms feasibility.
Sand casting suits larger steel parts and robust shapes; JK’s typical as-cast tolerance is ISO 8062 CT8–CT10, depending on geometry. Investment casting suits smaller, detailed steel parts, typically ISO 8062 CT5–CT7, and can remove machining. The route is confirmed from the drawing.
Stainless steel drawings are reviewed part by part. Send the exact cast grade, service environment, finish and required material records; grade availability, casting route and test scope are confirmed in the quotation.
No. ASTM A216 WCB names a cast carbon steel grade. It does not imply pressure-vessel, valve, PED or API certification; any such requirement must be stated in the RFQ and confirmed separately.
Yes. Steel castings can be supplied raw or CNC-machined on the bores, faces, holes and threads shown on the drawing. JK Casting machines castings it supplies; machining-only orders for parts cast elsewhere are outside the supply scope.
Include the grade and standard, the quantity and the raw or machined supply condition. For alloy or stainless steel, note that a feasibility review is needed first.
