Casting

Sand and investment casting for drawing-based metal parts.

JK Casting is an in-house casting and machining works in Gaomi, Shandong, building steel and iron parts to drawings since 2002. Send a 2D drawing, 3D file, sample, or worn part; we review alloy, casting route, machining stock, heat treatment, finishing, and inspection before quotation.

Route selection

Choose the process around geometry, volume, and critical features.

A practical route avoids paying for precision where it is not needed while protecting the dimensions that control fit and performance.

SC

Sand casting

Suitable for many iron and steel parts, larger envelopes, internal cores, and low-to-mid production quantities.

IC

Investment casting

Useful for smaller detailed components, tighter near-net geometry, and reduced machining on selected features.

PM

Permanent mold / gravity casting

A repeatable option for selected non-ferrous parts where tooling and volume support the process.

MC

Machining from stock

Best for prototypes, lower quantities, simple geometry, or parts where casting tooling is not justified.

WF

Welded fabrication

Practical for frames, brackets, guards, and assemblies built from plate, tube, bar, and machined interfaces.

HY

Hybrid production

Combine castings, machined inserts, welding, heat treatment, and finishing when one process is not enough.

Machining integration

Plan datums, stock, and fixtures before the casting is released.

Machining results improve when the raw casting definition protects clamping access, stable datums, cutter access, and predictable stock on critical faces.

Datum and clamping strategy
Turning, milling, drilling, boring, and threading access
Tool reach and internal corner limits

Practical workflow

An integrated production workflow with defined control points.

1

DFM & process plan

Confirm casting method, parting, cores, stock, datums, and inspection points.

2

Tooling & first sample

Produce patterns or tooling, validate raw geometry, and record corrections.

3

Machining & finishing

Machine critical features, deburr, clean, coat, and protect specified surfaces.

4

Final inspection & packing

Verify dimensions and records, then pack for export and handling conditions.

Deliverables & controls

Production controls that reduce handoff risk.

Document the technical basis so purchasing, production, inspection, and shipment use the same requirements.

Approved raw and finished drawings

Separate casting condition from finished-machined requirements where useful.

Fixture and datum consistency

Keep machining and inspection aligned to the same functional references.

Defined in-process checks

Measure risk features before later operations make rework expensive.

Controlled change process

Record tooling, process, drawing, or supplier changes that affect fit or function.

Frequently asked questions

Questions buyers ask before release.

Use these answers as a starting point. Final acceptance criteria should be tied to the drawing, purchase order, and approved technical record.

Can you supply fully machined castings?+
Yes. Quotation can cover casting, heat treatment, CNC machining, finishing, inspection, and export packing as one defined scope.
Which casting process should I use?+
That depends on alloy, size, wall thickness, detail, quantity, tolerance, surface expectations, and tooling economics.
Can machining reduce casting variation?+
Machining controls selected functional surfaces, but the casting still needs stable geometry and sufficient stock around those features.
Do you support first-article samples?+
Yes. Sampling and approval requirements should be included in the RFQ, including dimensional reports and any required material evidence.
